Mississauga lawyer is fluent in the language of legal contract drafting, review

Gujral Law Office in Mississauga is a trilingual legal practice, fluent in English, Punjabi, and Hindi. Led by lawyer Tarunjeet Gujral, we also fluently speak these languages. Our depth and breadth of experience in business and real estate law informs how we advise clients when reviewing or drafting a legal contract. When drafting legal documents, we know the intricacies of the law intimately. So, we can create documents that protect your interests and assets from legal action.

Likewise, we can “wade through the legalese,” as it is not jargon to us; our experienced professionals understand what technical terms mean and can “translate” clearly to our clients. We can recommend adjustments to the contractual language that will better protect your interests and that prevent potentially unfavourable situations down the road.

The ABCs of contractual legalese

By definition, contracts are legally binding agreements between at least two parties. There are many reasons you may need to either draft a contract or sign the contract after reviewing it with your legal counsel. Some of the most common contracts include those related to:

  • The exchange of physical goods; for instance, a client purchases a home or business from another party.
  • The exchange of services; for example, a contract may govern employer-employee and payee-contractor relationships for a given period or on a project-by-project basis.
  • Leasing, such as when a tenant business enters into an agreement (residential or commercial) with a property management company or a tenant rents an apartment from a landlord; also governs equipment and other assets that may be leased or financed.
  • Representative contracts which, for instance, aid in retirement, estate, and end-of-life planning; examples include Powers of Attorney whereby a party is appointed to make decisions on your behalf should you be unable to do so due to sudden illness or disability.

With our depth of commercial and business law experience, clients across a broad range of industries and sectors and with niche needs can benefit from our insight. We have been sought after to produce air-tight contracts for businesses that are debuting franchise networks, establishing employee share ownership plans, confidentiality, non-compete clauses or require Intellectual Property protection — from software licensing to brand trademarks. The agreements that we develop and provide guidance on are as diverse as the individuals, families, and businesses we work with, so we welcome your call or message and will guide you through your specific contractual needs (647) 957-8077.
